Excursions and activities from Zafferana Etnea

The village of Zafferana Etnea acts as a base for tourists visiting Mt. Etna at all times of the year and Villa Rosa is ideally placed in its historical centre; the volcano is famous for being the largest in Europe and rises to a staggering 3340 metres above sea level.
The summit of this spectacular, active volcano can be viewed from Villa Rosa.
The beautiful Ionic Coast can be most appreciated from the rocky heights of Taormina a world famous tourist resort with tiny narrow streets and fabulous designer shops, or from the higher view point of Castelmola; its spectacular panorama where you can sample almond wine.

Further north and off the Sicilian mainland lie the Aeolian Archipelago.
